Goggle Warning/Usage Instructions & Warranty Policy

WARNING STATEMENT

This high performance protector with polycarbonate lens is impact resistant but NOT unbreakable. Follow all care and inspection instructions. Only use the protector as provided in this insert.

• Clean and inspect the protector frequently. Exposure or contact with some chemical vapors or liquids may cause surface crazing and reduce impact resistance. Discard immediately when crazing, pitting, or scratches reduce vision.
• Do not use this protector when doing torch welding, torch cutting, electrical arc welding or any other operations which produce harmful levels of infrared radiation. This protector is not intended for use with infrared radiation.
• Do not use this protector if a gas vapor seal is required.
• This protector should not be used for simulated war games, including paintball and laser tag. This protector is not intended to protect against laser light.
• This protector is not recommended for racket sports, shooting, or other recreational or athletic activities.
• Do not make any modifications to this protector.
• UV Protection: This protector provides 99.9% UV protection up to 385 Nm.
• Be sure that the protector is always fitted properly and securely.
• Eye protection devices do not provide unlimited protection. They should not be used as substitutes for machine hoods, protective shields, or other equipment protective devices.
• Plant or other commercial use: To prevent serious eye injury, always check with your supervisor or safety personnel to be sure you are being provided adequate eye protection. Certain activities may require additional protection or safety equipment.

INSTRUCTIONS ON USE AND CARE

WEARING

In putting on this protector, use one hand to hold the goggle over the eyes then use the second hand to securely position the headband strap over your head. Adjust the headband strap to obtain a snug and secure fit.

CLEANING

Wash with mild detergent in warm water. Rinse clean and remove excess water with soft tissue or cloth. DO NOT use ammonia, alkaline cleaners, solvents or abrasive cleaning compounds. Store in a clean dry area.

LENS REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL:

1. Grasp top center of frame and pull front edge out and up, unsnapping lens.
2. Peel frame from sides and bottom lens until attached only at nose section.
3. Squeeze nose frame, unhook lens from nose frame and remove lens.

INSERTION:

1. Squeeze nose frame and snap lens securely into hooks on bridge.
2. Ease frame around bottom and side edges of lens. NOTE: Lens must fit tightly in frame channel.
3. Snap top center lens into frame channel.

DISCARDING

As described above, clean and inspect this protector frequently. Exposure or contact with some chemical vapors or liquids may cause surface crazing and reduce impact resistance. Discard immediately when crazing, pitting or scratches reduce vision.

STORAGE

Store in a cool dry place.

CHEMICAL SPLASH PROTECTION

This chemical splash protector protects against many chemicals, such as:

• Most acids under typical conditions of concentration & temperature — 10% Hydrochloric Acid, 30% Sulfuric Acid
• Low concentration & room temperature alcohols & alkalis such as Ethylene Glycol
• Silicon Oil and Greases such as Antifreeze, Liquid Protectant, Car Wax & Hydraulic Fluid
• Detergents & cleaners
• Greases & oils in pure form

This chemical splash protector protects against an initial splash of the following corrosive chemicals, but the protector SHOULD BE REPLACED IMMEDIATELY following ANY contact with any of these:

• Halogenated Hydrocarbons — 25% ammonium hydroxide, 10% Potassium Hydroxide, Sodium Hydroxide
• Ketones — Toluene, Methylethylketone, Hexane
• Amines
• Esters

PLANT OR OTHER COMMERCIAL USE

If you are working with any of the chemicals listed above for which this protector is not intended for use, please check with your supervisor or safety personnel to determine what type of eye protection is appropriate for those chemicals.

LIMITED WARRANTY

ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY APPLICABLE TO THIS PRODUCT, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT OF THIRD-PARTY RIGHTS, IS LIMITED TO THE 90 DAYS OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

Encon hereby disclaims all express warranties except as hereafter provided.

Encon warrants that for 90 days from the date of purchase the product will be free of defects in materials and workmanship if properly used and cared for or cleaned under normal conditions in accordance with Encon’s use and care instructions. With respect to the products, Encon’s only obligation and purchaser’s exclusive remedy under this warranty is to repair or replace such product. Encon requires proof of original ownership as proof of warranty coverage, and Encon must receive any claim under this Limited Warranty within 90 days of purchase.

NOTWITHSTANDING ANYTHING TO THE CONTRARY CONTAINED HEREIN, ENCON SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES. ENCON’S SOLE OBLIGATIONS IS TO REPAIR OR REPLACE DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS AS EXPRESSLY PROVIDED IN THIS STATEMENT. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

Replacement parts purchased from Encon are warranted for 90 days following the mailing of such replacement part or until the expiration of the warranty period for the products; whichever is less. No warranty is given in connection with products that are altered without Encon’s express written consent.

The same warranty limitations and obligations of Encon as set out herein above shall apply to replacement parts. Encon’s total liability arising out of this warranty (including, but not limited to, warranty claims) regardless of forum and regardless of whether such action or claim is based on tort, contract or otherwise will not exceed the total purchase price of the product.

Certification of goggle is void if replacement components as specified by the manufacturer are not used. Please contact Encon Safety Products for replacement components.
