Product Description

Self-contained gravity fed eyewash with transport cart solutions are ideal for facilities and work areas where plumbed potable water is not readily available and mobility is important. Encon’s Self-Contained Gravity Fed Eyewash with Transport Cart provides dependable emergency flushing capability in a portable configuration that is easier to position, relocate, and service in remote work areas, temporary job sites, maintenance locations, and other areas without a permanent plumbed connection.

This gravity fed eyewash with transport cart is designed to deliver a non-injurious dual stream of water at 0.4 gpm (1.5 lpm) for 15 minutes or longer. The highly visible yellow polyethylene tank includes front graphics with installation, operation, and maintenance instructions, while two sturdy side handles assist with handling and placement. The included transport cart and fluid collection receptacle help make the unit easier for a single worker to move, position, and maintain.

Tank

High-visibility yellow polyethylene tank with two sturdy carrying handles; fillable design for self-contained eyewash use where plumbed water is unavailable; front graphics provide installation, operation, and maintenance instructions. The tank is designed to be noncorrosive by potable water and provides a dependable self-contained source of flushing fluid for emergency eyewash applications.

Tray & Nozzles

Enclosed ABS plastic dual-stream eyewash heads are integral to the hinged drain tray, helping protect the nozzles from airborne contaminants when the unit is in a ready state. The pull-down tray activates the flow and stays in a fixed, open position during use so the user has full access to the eyewash streams. The tray also helps collect spent fluid and direct it to the discharge port for disposal or optional drainage connection.

Performance

This self-contained gravity fed eyewash with transport cart is designed to provide a non-injurious dual stream flow of 0.4 gpm (1.5 lpm) for 15 minutes or longer. The unit uses a 14-gallon self-contained design for emergency eyewash flushing performance in locations where plumbed potable water is not available.

Construction

The tank is constructed from high-visibility yellow polyethylene for durability and visibility in emergency locations. The eyewash heads are ABS plastic dual-stream heads, and the unit uses a pinch hose valve. The included transport cart provides a stable mobile frame for the eyewash and fluid collection receptacle.

Water Treatment Additive

One 8 oz bottle of Hydrosep® is included with each unit. The water treatment additive treats 5 to 20 gallons and is intended to help maintain stored flushing fluid for up to 90 days. For replacement or routine maintenance, see Hydrosep® 8 oz bottles (pack of 4).

Transport Cart & Receptacle

Model 01104055 includes the self-contained gravity fed eyewash, transport cart, and fluid collection receptacle. The cart uses large rear wheels and locking front casters to help improve portability and positioning, while the receptacle helps collect discharged fluid during activation, testing, or maintenance.

Mobility & Placement

This configuration is a practical choice when emergency eyewash coverage is needed in areas where a fixed wall-mounted installation is not ideal. The transport cart makes it easier to move the unit into place, position it in the desired location, and lock the front wheels for stability during use.

Applications

This gravity fed eyewash with transport cart is well suited for remote facilities, temporary work zones, warehouses, outdoor service areas, maintenance operations, and other locations where emergency eyewash coverage is needed but permanent plumbing is not practical. The mobile cart configuration also supports easier relocation and service in changing work environments.

Activation & Use

The unit is activated by pulling down the tray. Once activated, the tray stays in a fixed, open position to allow full user access to the dual streams of flushing fluid. The enclosed head design helps protect the nozzles before use, while the receptacle helps manage discharged fluid during activation or testing.
