Encon’s Combination Emergency Shower and Eyewash Equipment provides the user with both a full body penetration as well as a localized orbital area coverage in one station. They feature self-regulating, fully dispersed, flow patterns from the eyewash, facewash, and shower heads. Encon’s unique design also ensures that the flow of fluids is non-injurious; covering body and facial regions while utilizing varying hydraulic pressures from the water supply source.
The Encon 01050275 wheelchair accessible combination shower and eye/facewash is a floor-mounted, plumbed emergency fixture that combines a 30 gpm overhead drench shower with an 8.0 gpm eye/facewash in a high-visibility ABS Yello-Bowl®. This third-party certified ANSI Z358.1 unit is configured for accessible use and built with schedule 80 hot dip galvanized steel piping, chrome-plated bronze stay-open ball valves, and stainless steel actuators with actuation graphics.
This unit uses schedule 80 hot dip galvanized steel piping with a flanged floor mounting plate for free-standing installation. The shower valve is 1 in. and the eye/facewash valve is 1/2 in., both supplied as chrome-plated bronze stay-open ball valves with chrome-plated balls, stainless steel valve stems, and stainless steel actuators with actuation graphics.
The eye/facewash assembly includes ABS plastic dual-stream heads with ABS float-off covers secured by stainless steel bead chains. The heads are mounted in Encon’s high-visibility ABS Yello-Bowl®, while the overhead showerhead is manufactured from UV-resistant yellow ABS plastic for high visibility in emergency-use areas.
The shower delivers 30 gpm through a self-adjusting regulator, and the eye/facewash delivers 8.0 gpm through a self-adjusting regulator designed to maintain a constant and even dual-stream flushing pattern under 30–70 psi hydraulic conditions. The showerhead delivers a minimum 20 in. diameter pattern to the target area 60 in. above standing level, and the unit is specified to provide a non-injurious stream of water for 15 minutes or longer.
This wheelchair accessible combination unit is suited for industrial, production, maintenance, and utility environments where immediate full-body drenching and eye/face flushing may be required and a highly visible accessible emergency station is preferred.
